Bio: Asaf Sirkis is an Israeli-born drummer who began his professional career in the late 1980s, performing with leading figures of Israel’s jazz scene before releasing his debut album One Step Closer. After settling in London in 1999, he became one of the city’s most in-demand jazz drummers, co-founding Gilad Atzmon’s Orient House Ensemble and collaborating extensively with Tim Garland and Gwilym Simcock. A prolific bandleader and sideman, Sirkis has toured worldwide, recorded over 150 albums, released multiple projects with Moonjune Records, and in 2023 joined the legendary jazz-rock group Soft Machine.
